HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Hermosa weighs in at 40 pounds, is 7 years old and is an American pit bull terrier. She has a mellow personality, shelter staff say, and loves to relax. She also appreciates leisurely walks. She's very smart and quite loyal, and would love to cuddle with you. Adopters must own their own home for Hermosa, who also would do well with a fenced-in yard. She's done well with other dogs so far. Jamie loves everyone she meets and is a happy-go-lucky gal. She has the sweetest personality, shelter staff say, and engages in the most comical antics. She adores belly rubs, playing in blankets, going for walks and following around her human. A male black hamster, Uno has been handled and is quite social. He enjoys being around children and loves to explore and look for hidden treats. Micro, Itty Bitty and Little Lenny are soft furred rats age 11 weeks. They're bigger than a fancy mouse but smaller than a fancy rat when full grown. They enjoy exploring their cages and are smart. They aren't accustomed to being held but can be taught tricks. Soft furred rats enjoy living in groups and these three brothers are available to go to the same home or be adopted individually. Fiddler is a chatty boy who would prefer a forever home with older kids who can recognize when he's needing to be left alone. He's 8 and neutered and will be the perfect boy for a home seeking an older cat.
