LOS ANGELES, CA — A 45-year-old man was killed Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid- City area of Los Angeles. The crash occurred at 3:24 a.m. on the westbound freeway at La Brea Avenue, according to Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol. The motorist in the vehicle, a 20-year-old woman, called the CHP to report that she hit a person, Kimball said. She was not injured. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP's Central Los Angeles area office urged anyone with information regarding the death to call them at 213-744-2331. — City News Service
