Here are the top stories today in Mobile: Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to a fire at Rodgers BBQ on St. Stephens Road. The fire was caused by grease in the smoker and the team saw the flames when they arrived on the scene. However, the fire was put out quickly and no one was hurt. (WKRG News 5) On Saturday morning, juvenile offenders and probationers at the Strickland Youth Center beautified the courtyards outside the juvenile courtroom with flowers and plants. The community service project was mean to help get the kids involved, reduce their sentences, and have them learn life lessons. The new, beautified space is meant to make the courtyards a peaceful place for the families of those being served by the court and those who work there. (WKRG News 5) On Friday, the governor of Alabama announced that $41 million dollars of the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) would be going to the Mobile and Baldwin counties.
