SKILLED CARPENTER POSITION SUMMARY: Apex Building Repair, Inc. is looking for a Skilled Carpenter to join our well-established team of carpenters. Together, you will perform tasks associated with both commercial and residential remodels, additions and new construction. This is a Full Time position - Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES: • Use knowledge of residential remodeling and construction trades to work on Commercial Buildouts, plus remodeling and renovating period/turn of the century homes and rental properties • Read, understand and interpret blueprints • Use problem solving skills to envision all steps in assigned tasks • Renovation projects to include dismantling and demolishing designated items before carrying out repairs or inputting new materials. • Tiling of floors, tub surrounds, kitchen back-splashes, etc. • Trim Carpentry: cut, fit, and install crown molding, baseboards, counters, shelves, stairs, frame and hang doors, set windows, install hardware and trim • Perform related duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • 5 + years or more experience in commercial and residential remodeling • Talent at tile installation is a plus! • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Ability to work independently when required with little supervision • Ability to work on physically demanding projects in challenging environments, requiring extensive mobility, manual dexterity and excellent physical condition • Ability to continually: bend/stoop, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, balance, reach above shoulder height, walk and twist, climb/work from ladders • Provide and maintain personal tools of the trade to ensure proper and safe working condition • Reliable vehicle (truck or van preferred) with current vehicle insurance • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License in good standing • Must pass background check and meet company driving record eligibility requirement • High School diploma or equivalent BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: • Wage based based on experience and skill set. • This position is available to the right candidate immediately or with appropriate notice to current employer • Benefits include: Health Care Plan, Dental Plan, FSA/DCSA Plan, Life & Disability Insurance, 401(k) with Company Match, PTO and Holiday compensation • Please reply to this posting with your resume or apply in person with our front desk staff Apex Property Management, Inc. 1741 Commercial Avenue Madison, WI 53704 For more information about our company visit: www.apexrents.com
