It is with a heavy heart we’ve decided to re-home our 2.5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog / Blue Healer mix. She has been spayed, microchipped, dew claws removed and is very healthy. She’s super smart! She knows sit, stay, lay, come and to go to her bed or kennel. She’s about 45 lbs and walks great on a leash with a harness. She is full of energy and wants nothing more than to play fetch and be by your side. We ask she goes to a home that understands the breeds. She’s fully house trained, crate trained, loves riding on the car and traveling. She gets along great with other dogs we have introduced her to, loves cats and is loyal to her humans. She doesn’t bark unless someone is at the door, deer are walking near her yard, alerts when cars are coming up the driveway and alerts when strangers are on our property. We really appreciate this quality about her. We all as humans have quirks and flaws same as our girl. She communicates with her humans by growling and raising her hackles when she’s happy, when she’s sad, when she wants to keep the stick/ball etc. Her body language shows it’s not aggression but, is confusing if you don’t learn her language. She is best living where there are no chickens or other fowl. She loved our goats but, would herd them. She prefers to be walked with a harness but, if left on her she will take it off and you’ll be buying a new one. When on walks (only when we travel at home she’s off lead and stays on the property) she growls at other dogs but I say leave it and walk the other way and she minds beautifully. I think she’s saying stay away this is my human. We trained her to love her kennel and she happily goes in when asked. I mention this because she needs to be kenneled when your gone to avoid boredom behavior. We have accepted all her quirks and the ONLY reason we are re-homing her is due to her behavior with our birds as she injured two of my heritage turkeys yesterday. We are asking a re-homing fee.
