Fun Covers Project

Experienced mid-40's guitarist equally comfortable playing rhythm or lead looking for a new covers project. Seeking to rehearse 1x a week, and work towards playing out for fun. In my head I hear two acoustic guitars, bass and drums with the flexibility to unplug and play on the back porch for friends, or plug-in and play a brewery happy hour. Not interested in covering songs note for note, but rather reworking songs in our own style, while retaining the recognizable parts. I really enjoy working up material acoustically that wasn't written or played that way originally. How about some old hair metal? Classic rock or pop? Indie, folk or Americana? Anything's on the table, I just can't do country. I have a family and career that keep me busy, but am passionate about playing music and am seeking like-minded individuals.
