Lecture by children’s book “Twenty-One Steps” author Jeff Gottesfeld
The Centennial of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (1921-2021) presents our nation a unique opportunity to unite as one people and learn (or revisit) the history behind the Tomb, the Unknown Soldiers buried on the plaza of the Memorial Amphitheater and the Sentinels that have stood the eternal vigil since 1926.
During Centennial Week (November 8-11, 2021) the Society presents an opportunity to meet author Jeff Gottesfeld, who is an acclaimed writer whose work has won awards from the American Library Association, the Writers Guild of America, and the National Council for the Social Studies. Jeff collaborated with illustrator Matt Tavares, who has illustrated more than twenty books for children. This book talks about the history of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from a children’s perspective and tells a unique story.
