Description

Would you simply love to sing the disciplined delicious harmonies that are central to well-written long-proved bluegrass and classic 60's rock-pop songs, get good enough at it together to play out regularly/festivals? Not as a paying career, but just for the fun of doing it properly and well; getting all the way down into it with sufficient feeling and energy to really pull it off like the revered-for-good-reason originals. Female voice wanted who can sing well enough to hold, for prime example, a tight Paul Mcartney harmony-- alto range is good and fine and maybe even preferred (what would be male-voice mid-to-high tenor or falsetto). With you stepping out and singing lead on plenty of era-appropriate songs as well. This is for someone who will make time and is committed to learn and practice on their own, and get together to rehearse 2 to 3 times a week at my rehearsal space in northwest Fort Collins. (So please live right in Fort Collins or north Loveland, so that getting together that often isn't a big driving chore). Someone who has, in high school or college, been selected via audition and trained in an official choir-type setting, who has sung four-and-five-part harmonies in long complicated choral arrangements. If you do have said background, you may by now have correctly surmised that I'm a baritone ranging into tenor. I play rhythm guitar. I'm looking to fulfill some musical goals in which an easy-reaching female voice is integral. Just want to have fun building a core vocal repertoire together. Solid pure old school (less-melismatic) vocals are the necessary central dynamo of this entire project. Then more instrumentalists to be added later. And of course if you play an instrument with fair proficiency, so much the better! Once the core repertoire is built, and after apprenticing ourselves for say a year or two to solidly cover and gig (often with a full band), the diamond-quality-gem songs of yore, then I would welcome to air out our own creations, striving to equal the intense fun and joy and musicality of, say, "White Bird" by It's a Beautiful Day: (always worth another close listen, right?) https://youtu.be/ScFBqyAN8Bw Okay, if this advert got your heart racing to try and make such a project actually happen, yeah hit me!
