Description

Join Columbus Gives Back in registering and greeting guests for this fundraiser gala for our nationally-renown Columbus Metropolitan Library Celebration of Learning is the Columbus Metropolitan Library's annual fundraising event and we need you. Special Notes: All volunteers must provide proof of vaccination or negative covid-19 test within 72 hours of the event date. And, please let volunteers know that they will be checking guests in which means – checking their name of the list (on an iPad) and simply asking them to show their proof of vaccination or negative test result. They do NOT have to check id’s or compare the vaccine cards. And, if someone forgets their proof, we will have an affirmation form for them to sign. All guests and volunteers will be wearing masks. And, we will have many floaters (CML employees) to support them should there be any concerns. All guests have been notified that they must provide proof in order to entry and we foresee no problems; however, we will have plenty of support there. This role will truly be greeting our guests with a warm welcome and very fun! We are simply anticipating a crowd of 400+ people to come within a 15 minute period and we’re bringing in an army of volunteers in order to move the folks through quickly so we can maintain as much social distancing as possible. What to Wear: Business casual, black if possible Vaccination Requirement: Equitas has required all volunteers to show proof of vaccination. If you cannot or do not wish to comply, we kindly ask that you consider volunteering with us at another event, which can be found at https://columbusgivesback.org/events. About the Library: The Columbus Metropolitan Library provides vital services to the central Ohio community, from sparking conversations about social justice to helping our youngest readers build a foundation for lifelong learning. Your support ensures CML is able to offer programs and services free to all. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected]. Columbus Gives Back- Service with a Social Twist!www.columbusgivesback.org
