Description

Join El/La Para Trans Latina, The Transgender District, and Manny's for a night where trans latinx women come together&tell their stories. Storytelling has the power to bring us closer, deepen our understanding and expand our world. It can shape and challenge the perspectives of those who hear or read the tale. And it can empower those who share their stories and create space for fundamental change. Manny's is creating a time and space for trans Latinx women to share their journeys, hopes, unique struggles, and their sources of strength. The transgender community is a marginalized and disenfranchised community, here in San Francisco and around the world. We believe that these stories are powerful and necessary. And we are honored to be partnering with The Transgender District, and El/La Para TransLatinas for this affirming and uplifting event. You will hear unique perspectives at the intersection of being trans and Latinx and you will learn ways to empower and support those in this community. Please join us for a powerful night of testimony. The storytellers for this event are Victoria Castro, Sofia Rios Dorantes, Jupiter Peraza & Tania Jimenes. The event will be bilingual and an English to Spanish translator will be present. NOTE: A % of the proceeds go to El/La Para trans latina and the Transgender District.
