More panelist and sponsor info to come. * * The event is being hosted as a FREE public session by the 2021 Philadelphia Bike Expo. * You may also purchase expo tickets to see exhibitors and vendors at https://phillybikeexpo.com Professional mechanic & bike shop consultant, Marzhel Pinto, invites POC insiders and activists from the cycling world to discuss their experiences in navigating the post-2020 activism climate (where numerous bike organizations pledged to make radicla changes to inclusion and equity practices prompted by social pressures resulting from the 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstrations. ) Have these cycling brands and nonprofit cycling advocacy organizations followed through and transformed? One year later are there more POC professionals being funded, hired, credited, or consulted in cycling? Are POC rider safety and needs being accomodated? Roundtable moderated by bicycle advocacy consultant, Courtney Williams of The Brown Bike Girl. The Brown Bike Girl is a bicycle advocacy consulting firm operated by urban planner, experienced ride leader, and former organizer for a major women of color's cycling group, Courtney Williams.  The Brown Bike Girl provides ideas for individuals and institutions that work to promote cycling access and adoption in communities of color. Courtney hopes to see and train more POC to be their own bike leaders and advocates and change the value of cycling in the communities of color.
