Calling All Singers! Choral musicians from the greater Savannah area will have the opportunity to hear Paul Smith, director and co-founder of Voces8 work with the Cathedral Choral Scholars: some of the city’s finest singers. Mr. Smith will share the technical side of the Voces8 approach while offering feedback on tuning, phrasing, diction, and other musical elements that make the Voces8 style so famous. “VOCES8 are the Rolls-Royce of British a cappella ensembles.” They are at home performing music in all styles and from all periods with technical precision. The choir is composed of young singers who have effectively used digital tools, social media, and outreach to rocket to the top of their profession. Click Here to Listen Friends of Cathedral Music presents Glorious Music in a Glorious Place: the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Savannah. This year's concert series includes works by Mozart and Handel performed by orchestra, chorus, and soloists. We will host the Three Choirs Festival in January, featuring over 120 voices performing in the Cathedral Basilica. The choirs of Wesley Monumental United Methodist and Christ Church Anglican churches join forces with the Cathedral Choir . The Vienna Boys Choir and Voces8 will visit the Cathedral Basilica in early February in our international choir festival. Vienna Boys Choir will appear on February 6th at 5PM and Voces8 will appear on February 13th at 5PM. We hope you will join us often for "Glorious Music in a Glorious Place"!
