One of my closest friends said that Trump's emphasis of "America first" appealed to him. We all would prefer to collectively be proud of our Nation. However, actions speak louder than words. The rancor and derision emanating from DJT indicates a narcisstic, toxic attitude towards others. Social media chose not to ban him until he finally crossed the line by inciting his mob on January sixth. I understand the frustration towards politicians of both parties. And hey, DJT was elected by making promises he was unable to keep. He lost in 2020 primarily for not handling the pandemic in an efficient or timely manner.
Biden faces the same obstacles to a possible re-election--if life in America has not improved by 2024, he will likely be out. Obama spent his early years as POTUS trying to reform healthcare when he should have focused on the decimated economy. But the economy came back and although the GOP fought him like crazy, ACA became law. We don't have 3.5 trillion to forgive student loans, subsidize childcare, or continue liberal safety nets. If the Dems can't hold the middle ground, they will be roadkill in the mid-terms.
