Pedestrian, 33, Struck, Killed in Bay Shore

BAY SHORE, NY — A 33-year-old man died after he was struck by a car in Bay Shore Friday night, police said. According to Suffolk County Police, the 54-year-old driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was going eastbound on Howells Road at 7:58 p.m. when he struck the pedestrian in the roadway at the intersection of Manatuck Boulevard. The pedestrian was taken to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver was not injured. No charges were filed, police said. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
