1 Dead, 2 Injured In West Springfield Crash: Police

WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA — One person is dead and two are injured after a three-vehicle crash in the West Springfield area Friday. The crash happened in the area of Rolling Road and Fairfax County Parkway. Police believe a driver of a 2008 Lexus was heading south on Fairfax County Parkway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle struck a 2015 Honda Odyssey and a 2019 Honda CRV. The Lexus overturned, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. He was identified as Syed-Humza Mahmood, 23, of Annandale. The other two drivers suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, but detectives do not believe alcohol was involved.
