LONG VALLEY, NJ — Residents from Washington Township will have the opportunity to remember those who were lost in Vietnam at a special traveling memorial wall over the weekend. The Traveling Wall is "a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC," according to the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall's website. Stationed in nearby Califon temporarily at the Califon Island Park at 130 Bank Street through Sunday, the wall's stop has been meaningful for those who have visited the replica already from Long Valley, with Mayor Matt Murello reporting that he attended the opening ceremony on Friday morning. Washington Township Police Chief Jeffrey Almer, Califon Mayor Charles Daniel, veterans from the area and students participated in the ceremony, with seven quilts presented to attending veterans as part of the Quilts of Valor Program, Murello said.
