Road Construction Underway On MOVE Culver City Project Downtown

CULVER CITY, CA — Construction is underway on roads in the downtown corridor, which is the first phase of the MOVE Culver City project, city officials said this week. Construction started Monday and continues through Nov. 19. The following work will be done along Culver Boulevard and Washington Boulevard from Duquesne Avenue to La Cienega Avenue: Removal of existing stripingInstallation of new stripingInstallation of bus and bike platformsInstallation of transit and bike signalsPainting asphalt art City officials anticipate increased traffic and interruptions during construction. Work is expected to happen between 8 a.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, from Monday through Friday, city officials said. Intermittent weekend work is planned as well. It could also get noisy. "You may also experience construction noise and dust even though every effort will be made by the City and the Contractor to minimize these inconveniences," city officials said in a statement. "Businesses and their access points will remain open during construction," city officials said. "Your patience and cooperation in observing all traffic controls, parking restrictions and traffic control workers will be sincerely appreciated and will help in expediting the construction of the project."
