Description
Singer songwriter who has and wants to write darker gypsy styles is looking for a few other players who can add to the feel. I'll make a list of instruments that I feel would work with a group, but if you play something unique and think it would work as well, send me a message.
The project: Odd ballads, and moving rhythms that sound very reminiscent of eastern European progressions with a darker, and psychedelic bent. Lyrics delving in the humorous and other times morose musings. Think a gypsy daemon choir, or thoughtful but reckless band of rapscallions. Some songs would be dipping into other genres, and tasteful covers could be adapted to fit the sound. I'd like to record concept albums, with the point being to build a repertoire of good songs and use our talent to travel and explore the world. other lyricist also welcomed.
Instruments sought.
Violin/fiddle player
a female vocalist able to chant or familiar and versed in similar stylings as back-up or lead.
Stand up bass
Melodica
trumpet
accordion
hand drums, congas, basic brush kit
I could give examples of music, but I'd also like to do something completely original.
