🎃 Boo! 🎃 The Blue Wave Victory Garden is a not-for-profit farm that is being developed in coastal South Bay to feed those in need, students and frontline workers. After 28 months, the farm is finally nearing completion of its first stage. It's time to launch the farm's opening in safe, artistic and fun ways, O U T S I D E. The farm is donating forty - 4' X 12' X sky's the limit, garden beds for creatives to build their holiday masterpieces in place, to be enjoyed by our San Diego community. Other smaller beds may come available. Holidays are the theme with Halloween, Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day available to celebrate, with your creative expression wrapped around your favorite winter holiday. Maybe there is an obscure holiday you'd like to draw attention to? Throughout this year's holiday season, the farm will host fun garden parties on the day of the particular holiday, to show off the featured artists' piece for that particular holiday. Bring your friends and family. There is no charge for this first annual series of events. There are a few ground rules to abide by though, like build your piece so it is very weatherproof. High winds and rain are possibilities. Sunday, Jan 2 will be the party day, in which pieces are returned to their creators or donated to the farm. BTW, you may sell your pieces, too. The farm charges a reasonable consignment fee. T H E N... when February rolls around we'll celebrate with creating sculptures around Valentine's Day and uniting folks. Love will be in the air, hearts and cupid's everywhere. You must bring everything you'll need to create your piece. It's a wilderness area with no electricity. Found objects are always apropos but you may build from anything. (The farm will not be responsible for lost, vandalised or stolen pieces.) This is all about putting our creative thinking caps on, getting together outside and having fun, while noshing, drinking holiday beverages, communing and networking.
