Never Give Up Hope

Description

March is the anniversary month of my Mom’s death. She died last year March 2020 from the Coronavirus. She had an underlying condition. She was Diabetic and had Liver Disease but was living and functioning well at her home in New Jersey when she caught what they thought was the flu/now known as the Coronavirus. They investigated and did contact tracing to her local Supermarket where they are certain that’s where she contracted it. She was hospitalized for one week before she died from COVID-19 at a Princeton,New Jersey Hospital. She was 75 years old. A few months earlier I have just arrived to New York City from Los Angeles,California. I was making plans to visit her weeks before she died. But I was her typical son full of procrastination. So I decided to call her in March. To let her know I will be driving out there to see her on the weekend. The phone rang and rang, she never picked up her phone. She always picks up the phone. And I would play my Publishing Clearing House Sweepstakes prank on her! “Telling her that she won 1 million Pennies!” She’d get a big laugh out of it. But she never picked up the phone and I never got a chance to see my Mom again because New Jersey was locked down and so was the hospital. My family could not give my Mother a proper burial. By video call with the hospital my family and I made the decision to cremate her body. After that I got fully Vaccinated. I wanted to get away and start over. I decided to travel back to California to San Francisco. I will be staying in a Shelter as I try to rebuild my life. I will look for a job then search for housing. Find my little piece of happiness. I’m not asking for anything. I just want people to care for each other. Love each other and never give up hope.
