Description
This is Cooper, our lab/collie mix. Speaking of mix, I'm writing this with mixed feelings. Cooper is an awesome dog and we are torn up about letting him go to a new family but I just started a PhD and my wife is starting a business and we feel guilt because we can't give him the time and attention he deserves. Here are the honest details about Cooper: We adopted Cooper from someone who lost their job and home at the beginning of the pandemic. He helped me and my kids get through the shutdown. He turned two last June, has all his shots and has been neutered. He can hang out in the house or outside. He's awesomely potty trained. He never barks. We've seriously heard him bark like three times. He's super quiet. He also doesn't bite. He is great at walking on a leash, obeys sit, lay down, come, and heal commands. He LOVES playing catch and is awesome at catching frisbees or anything else. He loves to be active and has done many 4-6 mile runs with me and has also spent a lot of time backcountry skiing with me, hiking up mount ashland in the snow and running down behind me while I snowboard. He's super fun to take on adventures. He travels well and has driven to Utah with my family three or four times. He's good with kids and never bites or nips. He doesn't dig holes or tear stuff up in the yard. Now, he's a dog, and he's not perfect. He has a lot of energy and doesn't cuddle the way my kids want him to. He wants to play. He will randomly grab or chew on things that we don't want him to, so we have to be careful not to leave stuff in the backyard. He isn't aggressive but he gets excited around other people and other dogs. We have not had a lot of time to socialize him. He LOVES his people and never wants to be away from us but he will be best friends with anyone who will take him for a walk or play fetch with him. If he has to stay in the backyard, he will sit by the glass door and just watch us, wishing he could be inside with us. He is super loyal but sometimes you wish he would be a little more independent and go do his own thing. We are super sad at the thought of letting him go, but we feel even worse about how we aren't able to give him the time and attention he needs. So we will let him go to the right people. A small adoption fee will apply. We will provide a few supplies. We also have a number of items we will be selling, a crate, kennel, igloo, etc. if you need any of that stuff we can work it out. If you would like to meet Cooper, let me know!
