*THIS IS A FEDERAL FACILITY - POSITION REQUIRES CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Strip and waxing tile floor, concrete and terrazzo flooring. • Carpet cleaning, scrubbing floors, power-washing, mopping stairways, buffing cafeterias. • Other duties may be assigned. • Must be experienced in the process of using a variety of machines to safely remove (strip) old wax, neutralizing the floor and the application of new wax and adapt to and deal with adverse flooring conditions. Experienced or familiar with ride-on scrubbers and buffers machines. • Able to work with single discs, boost machines, wet/dry vacuums, ride-on floor machines, squeegees, buffing machines and numerous stripping/waxing chemicals. • Oral Communication - must speak, read and understand English. • Diversity - shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; promotes a harassment-free environment. • Safety and Security - observes safety procedures; uses equipment and materials properly. • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
