Description
Children will learn about Pint Size Protesters and the issue of houselessness and racism in a kid-friendly way. Who this in person service event is for: Ages 4-12. Siblings outside of this range are welcome to attend but may find the event less meaningful. Older kids and siblings are welcome to join as helpers. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Please see COVID-19 protocol below to determine if this event is appropriate for your littlest ones. What you'll be doing: Houselessness impacts families in our very own communities. In collaboration with Pint Size Protestors, we will help kids understand what this means, why it may happen and how racism may play a part - and how we can take action to help! We will begin with a short story time, then a brief discussion making the connection to why/how racism may impact unhoused families. Finally, we will help local unhoused people by making compassion kits. COVID-19 Protocol for In Person Events: Masks are required at this event regardless of vaccination status. Please review our COVID-19 Protocol for In Person Programming before registering for this event. Specific Instructions: Please bring a mask for everyone. All supplies will be provided. Why you'll be asked to donate: On the next page you'll be asked to pay a fee to offset supply costs for this event. These fees are non-refundable. If you have to cancel your registration later, please know that your fee will go toward our efforts to create more meaningful service-focused programs for Columbus-area kids. Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.
