Children will collect food donations, create food boxes for the shelter, and learn about food insecurity and unhoused neighbors. Who this in person service event is for: Ages 4-12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Due to the nature of this event, we ask that children and siblings outside this age group do not attend. What you'll be doing: Join Seeds of Caring as we teach our kids about food insecurity and take action in our community. Families are asked to collect non-perishable microwavable food donations ahead of time and then bring them to the Van Buren Center on the day of the event. At the event, we will be packing food boxes and sorting donations. We will provide a flyer in your confirmation email to help your child conduct his/her own neighborhood food drive if they choose. COVID-19 Protocol for In Person Events: Masks are required at this event regardless of vaccination status. Please review our COVID-19 Protocol for In Person Programming before registering for this event. Specific Instructions: Please bring food donations with you to the food pantry. Please bring masks for everyone attending.
