Come out for holiday fun at the Jingle Bell Jog 5k & 1 Mile Reindeer Dash! Food, fun, contests, and festivities for the whole family! Gates open at 9 a.m.1 Mile Reindeer Dash starts at 9:35Jingle Bell Jog 5k starts at 10 a.m. Same day registration is available until 9:30 a.m. Same day registration fee is cash only, $30. There will be food and beverage vendors from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. There will also be other local vendors with prize giveaways, products for purchase, and MORE! The 4th ID Band will be providing musical entertainment!There will be a Candy Cane Hunt!!!The Grinch discovered that Santa’s elves have hidden candy canes at Iron Horse Park. The Grinch is plotting to find all of the candy canes and turn them green! Search Iron Horse Park to find all of the hidden candy canes. If you find a special green candy cane, come back to the main stage to claim your prize! Candy cane hunt starts at 9:00 am and continues until all candy canes are found or when the event concludes (12:00 pm). Show off your Holiday Spirit by entering the "UGLY SWEATER CONTEST"Ugly Sweater Contest will take place at 1140. Winner will receive a prize! Registered participants will receive a cold weather hat (beanie), medal, and a sticker. Limited supplies available! The lines can get long for same day registration. Weather: We run in rain, shine, or snow 99% of the time. However, in the case of severe weather and the course becomes inaccessible and/or pose a major safety danger to participants, the race may be postponed or cancelled. Those attending the event assume the risk of injury as a result of inclement weather Parking: No parking in residential/base housing/neighborhoods on Fort Carson. Parking is free, space is available on a first come, first served basis. All personnel must park in designated parking areas. Parking in prohibited areas will result in a citation and the vehicle being towed. Please follow the signs for designated parking areas. Physical Security/Other: FULL LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS AND BAG POLICY APPLIES 100% random personal property inspection in effect. No firearms and/or weapons allowed. Privately owned drones/UAV's are not allowed. No bikes/scooters/hover boards/skateboards/rollerblades allowed Traffic: Please observe posted speed limits. RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT By entering and participating in this Fort Carson DFMWR event/program/activity, you consent to the following: I desire to participate in this Fort Carson DFMWR event/program/activity. This is an event/program/activity hosted by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. I expressly agree that I, myself, my heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby release and discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify, the United States Government, the United States Army, Fort Carson, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Sponsors, Donors, and their officers, agents, and employees acting in their official capacities, from liability and from any and all claims for any illnesses, injuries, loss, death, or damage, whether latent or patent, which may occur as a result of my participation in any of the activities that are offered as part of the program/event/activity, or occurrences incident thereto. I agree to comply with all safety instructions and requirements. I expressly assume all inherent, known or foreseeable risks and dangers involved in participating in the described activity.
