MINGLE & MAH-JONGG - a place for new and old friends to meet, nosh, play, have alot of fun, and maybe even improve their game! MINGLE AND MAH-JONGG IS BACK! After a long break, we are delighted to be back! I know I can’t wait to hear the clack of real tiles. Imagine the sounds coming from 15 tables…. This gathering really is for all levels of play so do not be intimidated… come and join the fun! (And tell your Mah- Jongg playing friends to come as well!) DATE: Sunday November 14th, 2021 PLACE: Beresford Recreation Center Assembly Room, 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas San Mateo TIME: 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. COST: $25 - must be paid in advance to secure registration (fee is nonrefundable and goes towards covering costs of putting on the event) WHO: Open to everyone who knows how to play! Beginners welcome! REGISTER IN ADVANCE: Limited to 60 people! (The room can comfortably hold 250 so we’ll be spaced far apart!) DETAILS: Show up, have fun! Its that simple…. This really is designed for people of all levels. Simply show up, sit at a table that feels right to you (beginner, intermediate or advanced) and play! If you are just a little rusty and need a refresher, come join the refresher table where I’ll remind you about the basics. (1:00 - 1:30 p.m) NOSH - please feel free to bring a nosh to share. There is a large courtyard where folks who are eating can go outside. Assorted waters and drinks will be provided. COVID SAFETY I know that we are all a little nervous about big gatherings. I booked Beresford because of its size. This room can hold over 250 people…. And i am closing off registration for this event at 60. We can comfortably have 15 tables spaced very far apart and if we all follow the guidelines we should be fine! Let’s all be good citizens and follow the rules… masks fully covering your nose and mouth must stay on inside at all times…. If you need a breather please step into the courtyard. I’ll keep all doors open for air flow too… Please bring a Mah Jongg set if you have one! See you on the 14th!
