Learn how to confidently take on basic tasks to maintain and protect your home at the change of the season During this workshop we will: Walk through a home to discuss utilities (gas, water, power), demonstrate their isolation points as well as talk about extreme weather response and preparation. Discuss and demonstrate proactive maintenance, setup a schedule and how to identify early indicators of larger problems. Complete a hands-on tutorial for common DIY home improvement jobs (eg. Drywall mounting, painting prep and technique, disconnecting old and reconnecting new appliances). Review “must-have” tools and how to use them. Demonstrate that anyone can be handy enough to keep their homes well maintained at a low cost. Learn to prep and protect your home BEFORE the next winter storm so you’re not caught in the cold! What will you get from this course? This course will give you the foundational knowledge and the confidence to actively maintain, protect and upgrade your home. You will leave the course with a recommended tool list, a maintenance template and a set of course notes.
