Panel discussion on national immigration policy and the current border crisis
On Wednesday, November 17th, the LWV of San Diego will present a panel of experts who will address the complex topic of immigration reform and the current crisis at the border. This event will be in person at the Mission Valley Library at 1-2:30pm, and there will also be a video of the event on the LWVSD website.
The panel of speakers will include:Tom K. Wong, Associate Professor of Political Science and Founding Director of the U.S. Immigration Policy Center at UCSD. His book, The Politics of Immigration: Partisanship, Demographic Change, and the American National Identity represents the most comprehensive analysis to date on the contemporary politics of immigration in the United States.

Troy Elder, Senior Staff Attorney at the Immigration Defenders Law Center in Los Angeles. Migration Missioner, Episcopal Diocese of San Diego.
The Mission Valley library is next to the Fenton Parkway light rail station. The League encourages attendees to use public transportation.
The League will ask for proof of vaccination or a recent negative Covid test at the welcome table for the health and safety of all.
