Enjoy a unique collection of American Iron in a great setting! A guided tour of yesteryear. Lunch is included
While we would like all cars to be BMWs, there’s room for others. If you’d like to see some older American iron, please join us at The Benson Memory Lane Museum. This museum, founded by Mr. Benson, of the Benson dealerships scattered through the Upstate, is full of pristine American cars from the ‘40’s, ‘50’s, ‘60’s and a few from the ‘70’s. And the setting is terrific – with loads of memorabilia from old time Greer, NASCAR and the various brands, themselves.
This visit starts with a free pizza lunch, courtesy of the Sandlapper chapter, at the Museum. They have an old time replica of a drive-in that used to be in Greer, back in the day. There’s even a jukebox identical to the one in Happy Days! After lunch, we’ll have a guided tour with sales manager, John Montgomery. John is a total gearhead and knows the uniqueness of each car plus why Mr.Benson selected each car for his collection.
This is more than a look at cars – it’s a reminder of a different era when American cars were different each model year. There was no seven year cycle with a mid-cycle refresh, like today. The engineering is fascinating, the styling unique and the setting perfect.
This group is limited to 40 people. You must sign up in advance, at no cost.
