The Plymouth Historical Museum brings back the popular Simply Dickens Period Musical Group for the twelfth year, on Friday, December 10 at 7 p.m. The show highlights the carols that were well known long ago during the Christmas Season but are rarely heard by modern ears, along with a few of the more familiar tunes. There are also comedic holiday skits performed by group members. Simply Dickens is a period-dressed quartet of trained vocalists and musicians that specializes in the music of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Ticket holders who arrive at the Plymouth Historical Museum early are welcome to visit the Museum's "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" special exhibit.
The Plymouth Historical Museum has an air filtration system. This i-Wave-C air filtration system filters down to .003 microns and filters the air in the museum four times an hour. The Museum also has four HEPA room filtration units in the lower level meeting room, where this event will be held, to aid in ensuring the cleanest air in town.
Tickets are $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets go on sale to members of the Plymouth Historical Museum on October 18; tickets go on sale to the public on November 1. If you would like to order tickets during the members-only sales period, you can become a member of the Museum at http://plymouthhistory.org/get-involved/membership/.
Simply Dickens is sponsored by Mayflower Towing of Plymouth.
The Friends of the Plymouth Historical Museum, formally the Plymouth Historical Society, is a privately funded membership organization dedicated to preserving, teaching, and presenting history through the operation and support of the Plymouth Historical Museum.
