TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police warned Thursday of a "very convincing" phone scam involving credit cards. In this scam, victims receive phone calls claiming their cards are compromised. The scammer then asks for account information. "Anyone who is informing you that your account has been comprised and asks for your information is trying to scam you," the police said. "Tell them you will call the bank and confirm this information and see how quickly they hang up." "These people are very convincing, don't let them trick you," the department continued.
