Description

Discover how the location of a burial site in the cemetery can tell you about where and even how a soldier died. On Sunday October 31, 2021, we will celebrate Halloween with the debut of a special walking tour of Stones River National Cemetery led by Volunteer Tom Zei. During each walk, Tom will share the insights he gained during more than 100 hours of research by revealing how the location of a burial in the national cemetery can reveal information on where and how that soldier died. These special 90-minute walking tours will begin at 10 AM and 1 PM. Reservations are required to ensure each group has enough room to follow CDC guidance regarding maintaining a safe distance from others. Stones River National Battlefield, a unit of the National Park Service, preserves and interprets the landscapes where one of the most important battles of the American Civil War raged from December 31, 1862 through January 2, 1863.
