Elementary School Custodian Bennett Valley School District located in southeast Santa Rosa has a vacancy for a full-time custodian. Major Duties and Responsibilities include: Keep assigned buildings and grounds clean and safe. Report unsafe and/or unsanitary conditions immediately to the maintenance supervisor. Perform small repairs as needed. Advise maintenance supervisor of needs for operating equipment and supplies. Daily cleaning of classrooms and lunch areas. Make sure all doors and windows are secure before leaving and set alarms. Perform summer deep cleaning -- shampoo carpets, wax desks, power wash buildings and playground equipment, wax floors, clean windows. Set up for meetings and special events as needed. Load and transport equipment and supplies with the district. Supervise students doing community service activities. Qualifications: Ability to interact positively with students, parents and fellow staff members. Knowledge of school rules and procedures. Ability to lift fifty pounds. Knowledge of operation and use of cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to work effectively and efficiently without close supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills, Employment requirements: High school diploma or the equivalent, pass a pre-employment physical, pass a fingerprint background check, proof of negative tuberculin test, CPR/First Aid Certification, California Drivers License (Class C) Salary: Class F on the Classified Salary Schedule ($17.50 - $20.26 depending on experience) Mandatory enrollment in California Public Employees Retirement System, and medical, dental & vision plans. District contributes $6,581.76 annually toward health and welfare benefits.
