Enjoy a guided walking tour through history and the unexplained of one of Athens' oldest establishments People often say, "If only these walls could talk..." The walls may not be able to tell the tales but there are some who are willing to spin the web of loss, love, mercy and misfortune for this guided tour featuring Athens State University and nearby historic districts. Haints & Saints: Tales of History and the Unexplained from Athens State's 200 Years comes as this historic school marks its anniversary. The tour open to ages 12 and up, will offer stories and adventure on a 1.5-hour guided tour starting with the Saints on the Founders Green before embarking into the night for tales and returning to Athens State McCandless Hall for some final tales and fun. The primary purpose of the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association is to invite visitors to Athens and Limestone County, Alabama -- tourists, historians, naturalists, students, storytellers, artists, musicians, sports events, meetings, and conferences. Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association has a role in the development of tourism through the promotion of permanent attractions, food and entertainment facilities, and special events that will bring tourists into the community. Athens-Limestone County is rich in history, culture and music and Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association encourages historical, educational, promotional and other activities that will further the interest of the hospitality and tourism industry in Athens and Limestone County, Alabama.
