Bioluminescence Eco Tour / Experience Bioluminescence kayak and paddleboard tours are one of the top ranked things to do in Florida for a reason. It is absolutely amazing to witness! Truly magical! If you’re wanting to experience it, you have come to the right place! Below you’ll find details about our company as well as our tours: GorillaShark Boards LLC is a local, family owned business dedicated to showing our customer’s the best Florida has to offer! We have a true passion for paddling that we love to share with others along with the knowledge, patience and skill set it takes to give every guest the best & most memorable experience possible! Outside of tours, we also provide mobile rentals daily so whenever you want to get on the water, we have you covered TOUR INFO: Each tour is approx 2 hours long. Our first starts at 8:00pm allowing for a nice end of sunset paddle in the beginning followed by the magic of bioluminescence! Our second starts at 10:30pm and ends at 12:30am. This tour slot is for the full blown effects of bioluminescence for the full 2 hours! We often see dolphins, manatees, and other wildlife glowing through the waters which is always such a blessing! It’s one of those things that you can explain over and over but there’s nothing that compares to witnessing it in person! We run our bioluminescence tours with small groups limiting ticket purchases for each tour to 6-8 kayaks or paddleboards. This allows us to give everyone a more personal, educational and FUN adventure! Our tours are family and beginner friendly so everyone is welcome! Outside of smaller groups, another advantage to choosing GSB is that our pricing is per kayak or paddleboard and not per person. Guests are welcome to bring their children along for the experience at no additional fee as long as they do not exceed the weight limit of their chosen vessel. Paddleboards- 285lbs, Single Kayaks 300lbs, Tandem Kayaks 450lbs. If you are bringing your child with you, please just make sure to let us know their age/approx weight in the comments section upon purchase so we can bring the appropriate sized life jacket for them We highly recommend taking in this adventure on one of our paddle boards. They are sturdy, easy to ride, and give you an amazing vantage point to view the bioluminescent glow. You can sit down comfortably if you chose, on your knees or standing. Paddle boards also make it easy to put your hands in the water to experience the glowing blue dino-diamonds!! (dinoflagellates) If it’s your first time every trying one, don’t worry!! We love introducing people to paddleboarding and will take the time to make sure you are 100% comfortable. BEST TIMES TO GO: The best nights to experience the full glow of the water (video attached below) are nights when the moons illumination is lowest. The waning and waxing crescent moon phases closest to the new moon are the best times to go out! The next new moon for September is on the 6th and the best dates upcoming dates to book our tour will be from September 1st through the 11th. There is a moon illumination calendar attached below October’s new moon is on the 6th and the best dates for the tour will be from October 1st to the 11th. We recommend guests arrive 30 minutes prior to launch time for check in and outfitting. Our safety orientation will begin 15 minutes before launch where we’ll make sure everyone is completely comfortable and ready to go explore! It’s Florida, so there will be times where the weather doesn’t cooperate. In that event, we would either allow guests to reschedule, get a refund, or wait out the storm. We also may have guests follow us to another close by launch location. We are constantly monitoring everything so the majority of the time we are able to notify everyone of the new launch location a while before the tour actually starts so don’t worry. Our focus is and will always be on the experience for our guests, and we go above and beyond to make sure your adventure is amazing!
