Fire Hits Route 9 Framingham Apartment Building

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham firefighters responded to a blaze inside a Route 9 apartment building Friday morning, an incident that eventually grew to two alarms. The first was reported near 9:30 a.m. in a building at 640 Worcester Road. The fire was substantially out by about 10:30 a.m., the fire department reported. The response to the fire shut down nearby Main Street between Route 9 and Walnut Street, according to Framingham police. Drivers were being told to avoid the area completely.
