RIDGEFIELD, CT — The state Municipal Election is Tuesday, Nov. 2. Patch contacted candidates to answer questions about their campaigns. Republican Carson Fincham, 46, is running for Zoning Board of Appeals in Ridgefield. Occupation: Patent Attorney Experience: Zoning Board of Appeals Family in government: No The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: Over-development. The ZBA does not regulate development and so there is little that can be done from the ZBA. The best the ZBA can do is to ensure that variances are only handed out when appropriate and to do so in an even-handed manner. Critical differences between me and my opponents: None. Most current members of the ZBA have quite similar views regarding the process of handing out variances. Accomplishments: I have been an active member of the ZBA for many years and I have successfully navigated the ZBA through several unusual and complex issues in my year as Chairman and What else would you like voters to know about you? I moved to Town in 1987 and when it came time to start a Family my wife and I chose Ridgefield because of what it has to offer - the charm, the quaintness, the safety, the great schools, and the natural beauty. I believe those aspects are worth protecting.
