ARLINGTON, MA — An upcoming biopic about pop icon Whitney Houston shot scenes in Arlington on Thursday. Film crews were spotted outside a house on Randolph Street and at Saint Camillus Parish, according to a post on the Arlington List Facebook page. Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine said he believed the production team from the movie "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" filmed in East Arlington. "We worked with the production team to accommodate parking needs and were glad to see interest in Arlington," Chapdelaine wrote in an email. "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," stars Naomi Ackie in the lead role, Stanley Tucci as record producer Clive Davis and "The Wire" alum Clarke Peters as Houston's father, John. Ashton Sanders, who stars as the RZA in the Hulu series "Wu-Tang: An American Saga," will play Bobby Brown. The movie is slated for release in December 2022.
