Here are the top stories in Salt Lake City today: Crews have started the demolition of the old Raging Waters/Seven Peaks water park, and city officials still want community input on what should take its place. Even though the facility closed its gates in 2018, the abandoned water park still holds a lot of memories for people living near it. Salt Lake City officials say the land can't be used for anything other than recreation or green space, so no commercial or residential developments will go there. (KSL.com) Basketball superstar Rudy Gobert's charity, Rudy's Kids Foundation, along with Smith's Food and Drug and the Salt Lake Education Foundation, partnered to open up a food pantry Thursday at Northwest Middle School in the Rose Park neighborhood. The pantry will serve an estimated 1,300 to 1,500 students and their families in the area, about 86% of whom are living below the poverty line. Gobert cut the ribbon on the new pantry Thursday. He helped pass out food and supplies to students at the school, posing for photos with the kids.
