TEMECULA, CA — This week, Temecula City Council gave its approval to subdivide 27.86 acres at the southwest corner of Date Street and Ynez Road, paving the way for construction of new homes and condos as part of the Heirloom Farms community. In January, the Temecula Planning Commission approved the subdivision and a tract map at the location; Temecula City Council gave its approval Tuesday night with a 5-0 vote. California Environmental Quality Act documents show a total of 321 single-family residences (detached homes and attached townhomes) are slated for the Heirloom Farms community. Tuesday night's approval of tract map 37509 clears the way for 111 single-family homes, 31 condominium lots and nine open space lots. Meritage Homes is the Heirloom Farms developer. The builder acquired the land earlier this year from Harveston–SAB North LLC. Securities have been posted by Meritage for public improvements in the area, including street, storm drain, traffic signals, and monuments as conditioned by the planning commission, according to city documents.
