LAKE FOREST, CA – Some Lake Forest residents are being credited for looking out for their neighbors this week after they spared occupants of a house injury when the residence caught fire.
The Orange County Fire Authority reported on Wednesday that a two-story home on Tizmin caught fire, starting in the garage. With the garage fully engulfed, neighbors called 911 and pounded on the door of the home to alert residents of the fire.

They rushed in to help the residents & their dog escape from the two-story home. pic.twitter.com/n2Cb3xSeVi— OCFA PIO (@OCFireAuthority) October 13, 2021 Neighbors are being credited with getting the home's occupants and their dog out of the home and then carried another resident – who had escaped to the back yard of the home – to safety by carrying that person on their shoulders to the front yard.
No one was hurt in the fire, the fire district said, and the cause of the fire was determined to be an unspecified electrical issue. Officials did not report how much damage the fire caused to the house.
