After Losing Home To Ida, $33K Raised For Doylestown Family

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The family of Lieutenant Greg Morace was recently able to move into a temporary home through the funds of a GoFundMe fundraiser, which was set up to help the family after their home was completely destroyed by Hurricane Ida. Morace, a lieutenant of the Philadelphia Police Department, along with his wife, Megan, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, lived in the house with their three sons and Megan's mother, Elaine. According to the GoFundMe page, which is being organized by Laura Zeo on behalf of the Morace family, their Doylestown home was demolished by Hurricane Ida on Sept. 1 as the hurricane caused severe damage throughout the town and other parts of Bucks County. "We need to secure temporary housing, basic food, home and educational necessities, and any at all help to rebuild their home, their space in our community," Zeo wrote on the GoFundMe page. On Oct. 10, Zeo announced that the funds from the page, along with a separate crowdsource from Greg's high school rowing team, were able to fund his family's stay at a rental home while the the funds continue to come for all other necessities. As of Oct. 14, $33,144 has been raised toward the GoFundMe's $80,000 goal. Those who wish to donate can do so on the fundraiser's page.
