Description
Everyone loves a parade. And what better to way to honor Joseph "Joe" McKeever's 40-plus years of devotion to the New Hope-Solebury Community Association and American Legion Edgar H. Denson Post 79 than with a parade of antique cars and motorcycles at his current residence, Pine Run Health Center, on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
McKeever is a proud Navy veteran who was active with the American Legion Edgar H. Denson Post 79 for many years. McKeever was also a member of the New Hope-Solebury Community Association, holding many board positions over his years of community service. He was an integral part of the Association's New Hope Automobile Show committee responsible for producing the annual New Hope Automobile Show, held every August in New Hope for the last 64 years.
Carl Maio, a board member of the Community Association for over 30 years, presented a Board Resolution declaring Joseph McKeever a "Director Emeritus" for his stewardship to the New Hope-Solebury community. McKeever's daughter, Christine Vannocker, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer McKeever, were present for the presentation and event.
The car parade began with an idea from Molly Sahner, Director of Life Enrichment at Pine Run Health Center. "I reached out to the Community Association with the idea of a car show for Joe and the Pine Run residents," said Sahner. "We thought it would be a great way to honor Joe's legacy and bring some fun to our residents."
The Community Association was eager to assist her, organizing the cars and motorcycles to parade the grounds for the enjoyment of the residents of Pine Run. Pine Run added to the festivities, providing musical entertainment and refreshments.
