Here are the top stories today in Savannah: Savannah City Council is seeking to make housing more affordable and increase community-wide support and education for housing in the city. On Thursday, the council approved a resolution to adopt the Savannah Housing Action Plan in a 6-3 majority vote. Incrementally increased housing investments will start in 2022 and will reach $100 million-plus annually over the next 10 years, which will benefit an estimated 15,000 households. City Manager Jay Melder will determine what action steps he recommends based on the plan. (WSAV) Savannah police are investigating a violent incident that took place on Brewer Street yesterday afternoon, where two women were shot and one man was struck with an object. The female victims were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, while the male victim sustained "non-life-threatening" injuries. (WTOC) Logistics professionals say the backlog and delays at Savannah's ports are simple supply and demand: There's more container volume coming in than the current truck driver workforce and available warehouse space can handle, according to Jed Young with Port City Logistics. (FOX 28) Youth sports returned to the Jennifer Ross Sports Complex on Sallie Mood Drive just days after a fatal shooting took place there on Tuesday. A letter from Chatham County Parks and Recreation indicates the department is meeting with county and city officials to review what happened that night and develop additional security measures. (WTOC) The woman behind the 4,000-member Helping the Homeless Facebook group has dedicated the last seven years to caring for Savannah's homeless population.
