Job Summary: Delivers mail to the Post Office daily. Picks up materials and equipment from the Post Office as required. Picks up materials from customers and vendors and routes all incoming materials to Receiving. Delivers materials to customers and vendors. Job Duties/Responsibilities: • Performs job duties in a manner that supports Eye/Comm’s Mission Statement and Values. • Delivers mail to the Post Office daily. • Loads mail in delivery vehicle. • Keeps each mailing separate. • Carries postal documentation for each mailing. • Presents mail at Business Mail Entry Unit with corresponding postal documentation. • Makes sure all mailings are processed correctly and accepted. • Resolves any minor acceptance issues with USPS mail clerk. • Reports any major acceptance issues immediately to supervisor. • Deposits funds into appropriate mailing permits. • Buys stamps when required. • Picks up materials from customers and vendors as directed by Supervisor. • Identifies materials and immediately routes all materials to Receiving. • Stores materials in appropriate location for efficient handling by Receiving. • Delivers materials to customers and vendors as directed by Supervisor. • Makes sure there is a delivery receipt for all outgoing materials. • Has customer or vendor sign delivery receipt and routes a copy of the signed receipt to Receiving. • Communicates with Supervisor on all shipping, receiving, delivery and USPS acceptance issues. • Maintains delivery vehicles, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fire extinguishers and any other assigned equipment clean and in good, safe working condition. • Performs safety check on vehicles daily. • Helps maintain warehouse in clean, neat, and safe condition. • Secures vehicle(s) at end of each workday. • Properly stores all materials and secures warehouse at end of each workday. • Assists with mailing and fulfillment as requested. • Performs other duties as requested. Job Requirements: Knowledge of production processes related to delivery, shipping and receiving, materials handling, related equipment and products, inventory control, and secure storage. Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Understands and practices good safety procedures. Forklift certified. Has current valid California drivers license and a clean driving record for at least the last 3 years. Able to work independently. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma and/or Vocational/Technical training and/or equivalent experience. Minimum 1 year experience in delivery and/or shipping and receiving.
