Text Apply23 to (626) 873-8747 JOB SUMMARY: The Landscape and Assistant Maintenance Technician completes minor to moderate facility repairs, assists with larger facility maintenance projects, completes landscape projects and maintains the irrigations systems on USHS grounds, prepares areas for meetings or events and maintains the overall cleanliness of the facility and grounds. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, but are not limited to the following: - Assist in all aspects of preventative and reactive maintenance - Provide general upkeep in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facilities, including trash removal, leaf blowing, scrubbing and cleaning of windows, walls, and floors. - Prepare areas of the facilities for special events or meetings. - Complete assigned maintenance repair requests. - Supplement USHS landscape contractors’ efforts through or by: - Remove dead, diseased, or damaged landscape. - Ensure irrigation systems are providing adequate and responsible levels of moisture. - Effective weed removal and mitigation. - Light shrub and trim trimming for presentation. - Utilize and update job status using USHS task/project tracking system. - Assist with maintaining all USHS vehicles in accordance with USHS vehicle policy including regular vehicle inspections and maintenance. - Other duties as assigned by Director, Operations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Working knowledge and experience with general maintenance tasks e.g., general facility cleaning, basic painting skills, drywall repair, light electrical, ability to utilize cleaning equipment (pressure washer, carpet cleaner, vacuums etc.) - Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to act with diplomacy, flexibility, and good judgment while dealing with people from diverse backgrounds. - Proficient with office communication equipment and office machines (telephone, copier, fax machine). - Some computer literacy. Familiarity with Word, email and internet research. - Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. - Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. - Must possess valid California driver's license.
