Description
Study seeking people who identify as a person of color (BIPOC) who are interested in becoming more active
Researchers from The Miriam Hospital are conducting a new study designed to evaluate the effects of two different brief interventions on how you feel during physical activity in the laboratory and out in daily life when starting an exercise program.
You may be eligible if you are:
- Between the ages of 18-60 years
- Consider yourself to be overweight or have been told by a medical professional that you are overweight (BMI 25-40 kg/m2)
- Would like to become more physical active.
This is a 14-day research study. All participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of two different 90-minute programs before completing a 30-minute treadmill session in the laboratory. After the laboratory session, all participants will receive a two-week exercise program. During this time participants will wear a device on their wrist to monitor activity and will be asked to answer daily prompts on their smartphone about their exercise plans and experience.
