You looked so quiet sitting there on the bench last night, so I asked you to dance (not sure where I got the nerve for that). I then got so nervous you actually took me up on it, I drifted back into the safety of my coworkers not long after we started dancing. (I also can't follow a beat to save my life, which I'm sure you quickly realized.)
I noticed afterwards that you had come with friends, and then my team got so wild, we never wound up talking — but I regretted it when you left. I would have liked to say thanks for the dance. Who knows, maybe you're a hopeless romantic, like me, and randomly peruse missed connections, and I'll get a chance to say it after the fact.
Still not sure where I'm getting the nerve for this post, but anything is possible in New York, right?
