Metal/prog musician looking to collaborate

I'm looking for other musicians (guitarist, bassist, drummer, and/or keys) to write and record music with. I'm 42 and I've been playing guitar for over 28 years. I use Cakewalk by Bandlab for my DAW. I multiple guitars and basses. Superior Drummer 3. EZBass. Top shelf plugins for mixing and mastering. Basically, I have all pro gear. My influences include Dream Theater, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Metallica, Machine Head, Trivium, Plini, Ola Englund, Tool, Haken, Periphery, Killswitch Engage. The list goes on. I'm married with a kid and a full time job that I'm going to keep until I retire. I have no delusions of "making it" because the market is saturated and there are a million other bands younger than me who are working 10 times harder to try and make it. At this point, committing to "making it" is like saying, "when I grow up, I'm gonna win the lottery!" That's a terrible life plan. Plus, there is no money in metal or progressive music. I'm looking for like minded people who are passionate about their instrument and want to write and record the best music that they have within themselves. I want to write and record music that I'm proud of. I want to create something that will outlive me. I want my kids to be able to listen to it many years from now and think, "Wow! My dad did that!?!? If he can do it, then so can I." I want it to inspire them and show them the potential that lies within them. I'm hoping my rambling here resonates with someone(s) out there.
