How do I know that the border wall will. not work? Because many of my friends and coworkers are undocumented immigrants. Two of them cross the border regularly (more than once per year) to help care for a sick mother/aunt. They pay the "coyotes" drug cartels to pass through the drug tunnels. Both of these people have crossed both ways multiple times over the last couple of years. This tunnel system is the most effective way to cross despite the fact that there are NO border walls in Ca. Much like the bart train that travels underground and under the bay, people travel undetected from the surface. A border wall may slow immigration from people who cannot afford to pay to use the tunnels. But people with a few bucks travel freely. Those who do not have money to pay to use the tunnel trade labor in digging new tunnels in trade for passage. You can choose to believe that the border wall works if you like, but its is one of the most ineffective measures possible to thwart immigration. Weak return for a huge investment.
